Meet Malaika.

Malaika is a Project Coordinator with Capital Construction Group (CCG) who was recently promoted for her outstanding teamwork and willingness to go above and beyond in everything she does. With over 25 years of administrative experience and seven years of focused experience in the construction industry, Malaika is the backbone of the project teams, supporting them from start to finish on their projects. What she loves most about working at CCG is the team unity and the amazing support she gets daily. We are so grateful for Malaika, and we can’t wait to see the impact she will continue to make on each of our projects.

I love and enjoy learning all of the different processes that take place from beginning to end to make a project successful.

Project Managers are an integral part of CCG’s diverse operations team and are actively involved in all phases of Prospecting, Preconstruction, Award to Start, Project Execution and Completion. As a CCG Project Manager, you will demonstrate effective and open dialogue with the project team regarding workflow, architect and subcontractor relations and any deviation in the project. The ideal candidate should have an innate aptitude in managing people and the drive to continuously inspect the project. The ideal candidate is skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that they oversee and delivers every project on time within budget and scope. We are seeking someone to lead and manage the organization of key client projects, in addition to thriving when planning projects and working with project teams.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE DESCRIPTION: 

  • Collaborate with internal estimating / preconstruction to develop a detailed project plan and track progress.
  • Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors/third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. Negotiate terms of agreements and draft contracts.
  • Develop project’s scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Use appropriate management and verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Training preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Mgmt, or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read Blueprints and Civil Drawings, Specifications, Shop Drawings, and Structural/MEP drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Projects or similar project schedule software.
